 Everyone involved in planning this year's is excited about putting together the premier family entertainment event for Colorado County and the surrounding area.  The Colorado County Fair is a community endeavor made possible through the guidance of local volunteer directors, the help of various committees, countless hours put in by other numerous volunteers, and the financial generosity of you our sponsors.

The Fair brings unity to our communities, provides a variety of entertainment for people of all ages and helps generate revenue for retailers throughout the area.  Patrons of the fair enjoy many events such as the full CPRA Rodeo --  a calf scramble as well as events for even the youngest cowboys and cowgirls.  There are performances by national and area artists throughout the fair.  Our BBQ cook-off boasts some of the finest teams in the state.  Livestock events include the annual Junior Show and Sale -- which allows the youth of the county to exhibit their project and experience the challenge of marketing the animals -- as well as an open Dairy show. Artists are encouraged to enter their projects in the fine art and western art shows.  The Home Economic exhibits feature many different handicrafts as well as some of the finest canned goods, baked goods and other types of prepared foods in the county.  The Country Store allows Fair patrons to pick-up handcrafted items and get any early jump on Christmas Shopping.  The Antique Tractor Pull attracts competitors from throughout the Texas.  The Petting Zoo/Half Pint Barnyard (which includes a chick brooder and Mobile Dairy)  are a hit with  kids of all ages.  The clowns and other variety acts provide continuous amusement throughout the days of the Fair.  Our Carnival provides clean and safe rides for the daring and a great carnival midway full of prizes.

The focus of all the year long efforts of the Fair association is the youth of the county.  We not only offer the youngsters the chance to show and sell projects, the fair association is committed to raising money to continue the practice of awarding over $14,000.00 annually to local students to enable them to continue their education.
