TWENTY-EIGHTH ANNUAL

COLORADO COUNTY FAIR PARADE

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2006

          We cordially invite you to participate in the Twenty-Eighth Annual Colorado County Fair Parade on Saturday, September 16, 2006 at 10:30 a.m.  Enclosed please find the Entry and Disclaimer Forms which must be returned no later than Wednesday, September 13.  The forms may be mailed to the address below or faxed to 979-732-5881.

          Please note, due to insurance and safety standards, all-terrain vehicles (such as 4-wheelers and go-carts) will not be allowed, and no candy or toys, beads, koozies, etc. may be thrown from the parade.  You may, however, have walkers along side your entry handing out treats to the children and spectators.

          Categories for judging will include Antique Vehicle, Float, Equestrian, Commercial, Service Organization, Educational and Marching/Twirling.  First, Second and Third Place rosettes will be awarded in each category, along with a rosette for Most Outstanding Overall Entry.  Judging will take place as the parade participants wait in the line up for the start of the parade.  Marching Bands and Twirling groups will be judged as they move along the parade route.  Vehicles of Elected Officials will not be judged.  The parade will begin at 10:30 a.m.

PARADE DAY INFORMATION:

1.       8:00 – 9:00 am—Pick up entry number at registration table located on Milam Street       near the Elementary School Tennis Courts.

2.       8:45 – 9:00 AM—Be ready for judging with all participants present, in place and entry # posted on the entry visible to the judges.  Judging will begin at 9:00 AM.

3.       10:20 AM—Be ready to take off, have everyone in place and move along in line as the entry in front of you moves into the parade route.

4.       Parade ends at the Veteran’s Memorial Center.  Please make arrangements for riders    to be picked          up at this location.

The Colorado County Fair Association, The Colorado County Fair Board of Directors, The Colorado County Fair Parade Committee, their officers, members and designated officials are not liable in either official or individual capacities for property damage, personal injury, or death arising from your participation in the Colorado County Fair Parade.  By signing the entry form and this disclaimer, the responsible person for the entry:

(1)      Binds each person participating in the activity under the authority of the entry form to hold harmless from liability the Colorado County Fair Association, the Colorado County Fair Board of Directors, the Colorado County Fair Parade Committee, their officers, members, and designated officials, in official and individual capacities, for property damage, personal injury, or death arising from participation in the Colorado County Fair Parade;

AND

(2)      Agrees to abide by all parade rules and restrictions set forth by the Colorado County Fair Association and Colorado County Fair Parade Committee;

AND

(3)      Agrees to provide each person participating under the authority of the entry form with a copy of this disclaimer.
